Encampment
Most of the events we do last for two or more days. Sometimes, we're incredibly lucky, and we get to inhabit, and stay in, castle buildings. Occasionally, we sleep in church halls near to the event.
Usually, our encampment becomes our home for the duration of the show. The size of the camp varies, but to answer one of the questions we're asked most frequently, yes, we really do sleep in our tents.
We invite visitors to the events we do to come into our camp, to talk to us and ask questions about different aspects of the encampment, or medieval life, to look into open tents, or to listen to the talks we can give on topics as diverse as weaponry, cooking, the history of fashion and dress, women in the middle ages, or more general history, among many other subjects.
If you're coming to see us at an event, we'd like to ask that you treat our camp with an amount of respect - we are inviting you into our home, albeit a temporary one.
